Design Philosophy

FireVim follows a few principles.

Lightweight

Plugins are added because they provide meaningful functionality, not simply because they are popular.

Built-in first

Neovim's built-in features are preferred when they are good enough. For example, FireVim uses:

• Native LSP
• Native LSP completion
• Native diagnostics
• Native formatting
• Built-in file browsing
• Native search
• Command-line & message UI built on Neovim's experimental core redesign, layered with mini.cmdline

Transparent

FireVim doesn't try to hide how Neovim works. You can open init.lua and see exactly what FireVim is doing.

Opinionated, not restrictive

FireVim provides sensible defaults, but it is still your Neovim configuration. Change whatever you want.
